About Me
I am Lawrence (Chunlin) Ruan, a photographer and storyteller based in the Greater Boston area. My work spans school portraits, weddings, and cultural events, but at the heart of my photography is a search for authenticity and human connection.
With a background in both technology and the arts, I approach photography as more than documentation—I see it as a way to capture moments that speak, breathe, and endure. Whether I am photographing a festival, a wedding, or a simple everyday scene, my goal is to create images that preserve not only how things look, but how they feel.
I began my journey in photography later in life, after exploring other professional paths, and I’ve come to realize that this is where my true talent lies. Each assignment, big or small, is part of a larger portfolio I am building—one that reflects both technical precision and a deep respect for the stories unfolding in front of my lens.
My long-term vision is to merge photography with my passion for writing and filmmaking, creating work that is both visual and philosophical. For now, I am focused on serving clients with dedication, while continuing to grow as an artist who sees photography as an infinite dialogue between reality and imagination.
